What happens on the break?
Break 1 Fun
Evelyn opened her eyes. Her head was pounding. She ed taking shots with Noah and then...nothing. She groaned and sat up. The sheet fell from her body and she noticed her distinct lack of clothing.
"Right..." She moaned, "Sleeping naked is the new norm..."
She glanced over at the other side of the bed. Had Florence slept there? She must have, there was no way shy Florence was going to sleep nude with one of the guys.
Evelyn pouted. Florence had been naked in bed with her and she'd missed it? Well, not really, but she couldn't it at all. She got up and started looking for her clothes, but then noticed a pile of folding clothing on the dresser. It would be just like Florence go to ahead and grab something from Evelyn's room. She walked over to it and saw that it was indeed her own clothes. She frowned at the lack of pants, but realized she'd have to get used to it.
She'd only brought a single skirt with her, a heavy pleated leather skirt meant to go with her Mistress Morningstar cosplay. She never intended to wear it by itself, it was just decoration over her leather pants. Except now that was out the window, and she didn't particularly want to spend the whole week in a heavy leather skirt. Thankfully Florence had thought of that. While the underwear, socks and shirt were all Evelyn's, there were several skirts of Florence's picked out for her to try. Evelyn picked one of them and got dressed quickly, then headed downstairs.
She found Florence sitting at the kitchen table sipping on a steaming mug of tea and reading something on her tablet. When she noticed Evelyn she put the tablet down, blushed deep crimson, and greeted her, "G-good morning. D-did you sleep well?"
Evelyn raised an eyebrow, "Ya. Guess so. I'm still exhausted though. Drunk sleep isn't restful sleep. Why do you sound so nervous? After last night aren't we good friends?"
"G-good friends?" Florence turned her eyes away, "Y-yes. It's just...well..."
It suddenly clicked for Evelyn, "Oh shit. I came onto you, didn't I?" She held up her hands, "Listen, I was drunk, like...seriously, I can't anything after taking shots with Noah. I'm not some creep that's going to assault you at night or anything. Whatever I said, I didn't mean it."
Flornece gulped, "R-right. Of course," She slowly started to sound more confident, "Of course, it's the game's fault. Do you you final punishment?"
"No, what happened? I assume I lost?"
Florence nodded, "You did. And now you get h-horny when drunk. Uh specifically it said the higher your blood alcohol content, the hornier you get."
"Shit, I must've been all over you. Well, seriously. I'm sorry." Evelyn said.
"It's fine. I'm fine. You didn't DO anything. Just...well...you said..."
"What? What did I say?" Evelyn desperately wanted to know.
"T-that I was pretty." Florence said, refusing to make eye .
Evelyn stared at her for a moment, "Wait...that's it? Damn. You are starved for compliments, aren't you? Well I don't take that back. You are pretty. You've got good facial structure, you're fit. Really you just need to sit up straighter and be a bit more confident. Oh, and your clothes. Stop dressing like a librarian."
"B-but I'm trying to become a librarian."
"Then dress like a sexy librarian! Why don't we go shopping today? I'll help you pick out something nice." Evelyn said with a smile.
Florence cocked her head to the side, "But don't you always wear baggy sweaters and leggings?"
"That's my style," Evelyn said defensively, "Besides I do own other clothes. I can dress up when I want to. So, you in?"
"Sure. Why not?" Florence said, "Oh, are you hungry? I made French toast casserole. I figured the boys would be hungry too...but they've all gone out."
"I'm starved," Evelyn said, "I'd love some. And is there any coffee? And where the fuck did they go?"
"Mateo dragged Noah off to take the Aston Martin for a joyride. Daniel said he was going to the library. And I didn't make coffee, but Daniel bought some. If you know how to do it..."
"Yeah yeah, I can make coffee. The library? I didn't take him for that kind of nerd."
Florence shrugged, she thought it was strange too, but she hadn't been about to stop him. She got up to serve Evelyn breakfast as Evelyn started to make herself a pot of coffee. Then the two women sat down and discussed their shopping plans.
The engine purred as Mateo took it up the gentle hill. Even after a few hours of driving he couldn't get enough of the feel of this car. His family had money, that was true enough, but they'd never let him buy something like this. His father didn't mind paying for University, his high end computer, or even a cross country flight to see friends, but a sports car? His father would probably cut him off just for asking.
The reached the top and Mateo pulled into a parking spot. He reluctantly put it in park and turned the engine off, then looked over to Noah, "That was amazing."
Noah groaned, "You took those corners too fast, I was nearly sick. And now you've brought me to a winery?"
"Yeah! Look at this view, it's gorgeous. Don't worry, I'll drink for both of us. You can be the DD and drive back."
"Great." Noah croaked. The two of them got out of the car and stood overlooking the rows and rows of grapes. Noah had to it it was a nice view.
Mateo led Noah up to the restaurant. This particular winery was known for having good food as well as good wine. They'd only just opened and so it was no problem getting a table. Mateo ordered a bottle of red, but Noah decided to stick with just wine. As they waited for their food, Noah looked around at the other guests. His bionic eye was active and he could still see numbers over everyone's head.
Last night he hadn't been sure what those numbers meant, but with a larger sample he was starting to understand. In general men had low numbers. Many of them were zero, or just single digits. On the other hand women had a huge range from zero all the way up to 80. No, 81. 82. 83. Noah stared at that particular woman. She was drinking with a friend of hers but she kept stealing glances towards Noah. She suddenly stared right at him and took another long sip. 84.
Then he ed his prize from winning last night. When people drink they find him more attractive. That was it. The number was a scale of attraction. And that woman? She was into him.
"Dude, why do you keep staring at that girl?" Mateo asked suddenly.
"She's into me," Noah said, "I think...I think I can tell. The bionic eye."
"That's what it does? That's awesome. Go say something."
"What? What would I even say?" Noah wasn't exactly suave.
"Say I just drove here in my Aston Martin," Mateo said, "Or say hi and then 'accidently' drop the keys."
Noah shook his head. He couldn't. He just wasn't used to approaching women like that.
Mateo shrugged and then their appetizers arrived. They moved on to talking about RuneCon and Noah mostly forgot about her.
When they'd finished their meal some time later he sat back and glanced around. The woman was still there. Except she was obviously drunk. The number above her head? 100/100.
Noah gulped. This...this wasn't ok...was it? If he approached her...wasn't he taking advantage of her? He shook his head, he couldn't do that.
Then she suddenly stood up and walked over to him, "Hi there," She said with a smile, "I'm sorry, I just had to come and tell you how much I love your shirt!"

Noah glanced down. He was wearing a $5 shirt from Giant Tiger. Beside him Mateo whispered, "She's not talking about the shirt dude! Say something!"
Noah gulped, "Um. Thanks. I love you dress, it really brings out your eyes."
She beamed back at him, "Thanks! I'm Amy!" She held out her hand.
Noah took it, "Noah."
"Umm...did you...did you want to have a drink with me?" Amy asked.
Before Noah could answer, Mateo jumped in, "Sorry he's my DD. That's his car over there, he wouldn't let me drive so..."
She glanced to where he was pointing, then looked back at Noah, "That sports car?"
"It's an Aston Martin." Mateo said.
Noah blushed, "Yeah, that's mine." He itted.
"Why don't you take her for a drive?" Mateo suggested, "I can chill here for a bit."
Amy looked excited, but then glanced back to her friend, "Um, well..."
The friend had been listening apparently and came over. She gave Noah and appraising look, then shrugged and sat down at their table, "Go ahead. I'll hang with this dude."
"Mateo." Mateo said.
"Nat." The newcomer said, "Go ahead Amy."
"Well...sure, I can take you for a spin." Noah said. Amy agreed and soon her found himself speeding down the highway with a beautiful woman in the enger seat. He couldn't believe it. He knew the game had been unkind to the others but so far? He loved this game.
Daniel adjusted his collar. Normally he'd wash new clothes before wearing it, but having gained half a foot instantly last night he'd been pretty desperate for new clothes. Despite being the correct size now, they just felt uncomfortable and starchy.
He sighed. Beggars can't be choosers he supposed. It wasn't easy shopping for clothes as a 6 foot 8 man and he wasn't sure he'd have many other options in this small city. He'd have to plan a visit to his tailor when he got back home. For now though, he didn't look totally ridiculous so it would have to do.
He closed the book he'd been reading and leaned back. He hadn't found anything. He hadn't expected to find anything. But still...it was disappointing. He'd spent time last night and first thing this morning researching the game and the mansion online, without any success. He'd even done a title search but it was like the property didn't even exist. He didn't want to push that angle too far yet, least he create additional trouble for Florence, but they'd have to deal with that eventually.
When his online search had faltered, he'd decided to check out the local library, to see if there were any old records there that might talk about the mansion. It was huge. Surely it was mentioned somewhere, right? Well, if it was it would take a lot more digging. The problem with analogue records was the time it took to search them. Daniel considered himself a fairly advanced reader, but he'd been at it all morning without any luck.
A ding from his phone distracted him. He glanced over and then quickly opened it up when he saw who it was. He'd ed someone from the local historical society and they'd agreed to meet. He smiled and quickly put away his books, then headed to the address in the email.
When he arrived he found an elderly woman waiting for him. She smiled at him, "Wow, how's the weather up there?"
Daniel smiled, "Sunny skies, a beautiful day isn't it?"
"Yes, yes. Your email said you wanted to talk about the big old mansion on the shore? Well...um, you'd better come sit down for this." The woman invited him inside and he followed her to her table and sat down, "Tea?" He nodded and she got them pour a cup, "Uh right. As I was saying...there's soemthing strange about that house. Oh, well they say a picture's worth a 1000 words so here...I found this in our archive."
She pushed a paper across the table. He looked down and saw a very old black and white photo. He immediately recognized the mansion. Despite the age of the photo, the mansion didn't look new. It looked just as run down as it did today. Unlike the present day, there were no other mansions around it. Just a small settlement visible across the water.
"When is this from?"
"1890. Or there abouts," The woman said, "Now you might believe that house is 130 years old...but then..." She pushed another page across. Daniel looked at it and gasped. She nodded, "It's impossible. Isn't it?"
This second piece of paper was a print of a painting. It showed the Halifax area pre-colonization, with Mi'kmaq settlements dotted around the coast...and the mansion. Just as it was today.
"That doesn't make any sense." Daniel said.
"No. And this has been in our collection for years. I've looked at this before. The mansion wasn't there."
"But..." Daniel didn't know what to say.
The woman looked up at Daniel, her voice was full of concern, "If I were you...I'd leave. Leave that place and never go back."
Daniel wished he could take her advice, but he was prepared to ignore the warning of the game. 8pm. Or else.
Florence took a deep breath, then stepped out of the changing room. She looked at Evelyn, "W-well? What do you think?"
Evelyn stared at her. Florence felt butterflies in her stomach. This was one of the outfits she'd picked herself. It was closer to her normal style than the choices Evelyn had picked.
"It looks good on you." Evelyn said tightly.
Suddenly there was a tinkling noise. They both looked down to see a button bouncing on the floor. Evelyn gasped as her skirt suddenly started to fall. She caught it around her knees and looked at Florence, embarrassed.

Evelyn rolled her eyes, "Ok! It doesn't! I told you. Try on the outfit I picked!" She pulled the skirt back up and held it in place, "Dammit. Sorry, this was your skirt and I've ruined it."
"It...it's just a button. I can sew it back on. No problem. I'll go change..."
She came out a few minutes later with a new outfit on and waited for Evelyn to comment.
Evelyn gave her a critical look, then shook her head, "It's those glasses. Your frames are too thick. Take them off."
"But then I can't see." Florence complained.
"Just let me see. You can get new frames, or we'll get you s. Just do it."
Florence sighed, but obediently removed them. She smiled at Evelyn awkwardly, "Well?"

"Yes! Much better. Buy it!" Evelyn said.
Florence nodded, "Let me just go change back." She stepped back into the change room and put her old clothes back on, then went out and bought the clothes she'd picked out with Evelyn. Evelyn was getting tired of holding up the skirt and so she found one to buy and wore it out of the store.
While they were shopping they'd both gone looking for new bras, but it seemed that the rule was truly universal. Stores didn't even sell bras below DD, and even bralettes and sports bras were out of the question for women their size. A little online checking had revealed that the whole world just accepted this as a normal thing. It was only their group that found it strange.
"Well, what should we do now?" Florence asked.
"Ice cream?" Evelyn suggested.
Florence smiled, "Yeah, I could go for some ice cream." The two of them headed out to search for some dessert.
Unfortunately Mateo and Nat didn't have much in common. They tried talking for a little bit, but eventually just resorted to looking at their phones. He felt a little resentful towards Noah. He knew he'd been the one to encourage him to go, but now his friend was out with a hot chick and he was sitting hear twiddling his thumbs, it just didn't seem fair.
Mateo got bored of his phone and set it down. He looked over at Nat. She was a little plain but he suddenly the rules from last night. Blonde hair.
"Hey Nat, is it true that you can't lie?"
She raised an eyebrow, then touched her hair, "Duh. Everyone knows blondes can't lie."
"You never thought about dying your hair?"
She shrugged, "Yeah. I did. Sometimes it's annoying, since people know I'm always truthful I have to be careful not to hurt their feelings. But dying your hair just hides your tell, I still couldn't lie even if I dyed it. So instead I focus on the positives. Because of my hair, people trust me. Not lying doesn't mean I'm always right, but it means I believe what I say."
"that's a good point," Mateo conceded, "So what do you think our friends are up to?"
"Fucking." She said flatly, "Definitely fucking. Amy has a thing for black guys."
Mateo laughed. She really was upfront, wasn't she, "I don't know. Noah doesn't have any game."
"Doesn't need game. Amy knows how to get what she wants."
Mateo put on his most charming grin, "And you? What do you want?"
She shut him down immediately, "For you to shut up and Amy to get her ass back here."
Mateo frowned, but realized nothing would come from saying more. He went back to his phone and after a few minutes he finally saw Noah and Amy returning.
Noah got out with the biggest grin Mateo had ever seen and Amy started immediately trying to fix her dress as she got out. Mateo got up and went over to Noah, "Ready to go?" Noah asked.
"Obviously. I'm sober now if-"
"Nah, I'm driving." Noah said.
Well it WAS his car. Mateo got in the enger seat and Noah peeled out of the drive. They spent the first few minutes in silence, but Mateo could tell Noah REALLY wanted to dish, "So?"
"She was amazing!" Noah said, "I...I've never done anything like that!"
"What? Hook up with a stranger?"
"No, she..." Noah trailed off, "Well...in the car..."
"Ew," Mateo squirmed in his seat, "Here?"
He nodded, "While I was driving...I couldn't believe it. I nearly crashed!"
"Road head, wow, so happy for you..." Mateo rolled his eyes, "I had a great time with Nat."
Noah could sense his sarcasm, "Sorry. It was pretty shitty to leave you alone."
"No, it was my push. I'm glad you were able to have some fun. Did you get her number?"
"No, but that's alright. I feel confident in myself for the first time in a long time. That was good for me."
Mateo sighed, "Well good buddy. Now let's get back to the mansion. I need a nap before we play that stupid game again."
They drove in silence the rest of the way, and the grin never left Noah's face.
Just before 8 the 5 of them gathered in the living room. It was time to start again...
