Magical Board Games

Magical Board Games

You don’t play the game. The game plays you.

Chapter 1 by Ggnt Ggnt

The origin of the game is shrouded in mystery, ed down through whispered legends and forgotten languages. Some say it was forged in the chaos between worlds. Others believe it was born from the will of the universe itself, a **** of balance, curiosity, and consequence. Whatever its true nature, one thing is certain: the game is not evil. But it is not good either.

The game has only one purpose — to be played.

It has no name that endures, no permanent shape or ruleset. It changes its appearance like a chameleon, shifting to suit its surroundings, drawing in those most likely to succumb to its pull. Sometimes it appears as a battered old box in a thrift store. Other times, a sleek new board tucked into the back of a closet, or an app no one re ing. It does not choose its players with malice — only inevitability.

To start the game means playing until the end; walk away and learn what punishment really means.

The game transforms and corrupts its players but offers a slight glimmer of hope. One winner gets a wish to change reality itself.

Right now, somewhere in the world, the game is stirring again.

It has found a new group of players.

They don’t know it yet, but once the first die is cast…

The game will not let them go.

Who finds the game?
