Riley Marie Gaines Barker (née Gaines; born April 21, 2000) is an American transphobe, conservative political activist and former swimmer, known for campaigning against the participation of trans women in women's sports. As a 12-time NCAA All-American, she competed for the University of Kentucky NCAA swim team before retiring from competition and focusing on political activism. She tied for fifth place with Lia Thomas, a trans woman, in the 200 yard freestyle, and subsequently used this tie as an argument against trans women in sports for her post-college career.
